University of Manchester launches 4 new masters degrees
The University of Manchester has launched four new masters degrees: MA Creative and Cultural; MA Library and Archive Studies Industries; MA Digital Media, Culture and Society; and MusM (Performance).
MA Creative and Cultural Industries
This masters explores theories and practices of international creative and cultural industries management, policy and development. Students will also undertake a work placement in a creative and cultural organisation in or around Manchester. It can be studied full time over one year or part time over two years.
MA Digital Media, Culture and Society
This MA program develops skills and knowledge to enable students to engage critically with key debates and issues in the study of digital media and technology. Students on this course will become well informed about digital technology and culture, with in-depth understanding of issues including social media, identity, artificial intelligence, data, platformisation and surveillance. It can be studied full time over one year or part time over two years.
MA Library and Archive Studies
This masters explores emerging critical approaches and archiving in library practice and theory. Students will also undertake a work placement in a library or related cultural organisation in or around Manchester. This course can be studied full time over one year or part time over two years.
MusM Music (Performance Studies)
This masters degree develops the skills and knowledge to forge a socially impactful portfolio careers as performing artists, educators, entrepreneurs and researchers. Students will develop an advanced understanding of the interpretation of music through analysis, historical research, cultural critique and performance at a Top 5 UK University for Music (Complete University Guide 2023). This course can be studied full time over one year or part time over two years.
