Kickstart your career in the film, television and games industries at the NFTS
Want to build a thriving career in the screen industries? Then the National Film and Television School (NFTS) is the place for you – and applications to join the NFTS in September 2023 and January 2024 are now open.
Why study with the National Film and Television School?
1. Become part of an outstanding School
In 2018, the NFTS was awarded the BAFTA for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, in recognition of the role it has played developing British creative talent for nearly 50 years. The Hollywood Reporter considers the NFTS to be one of the 15 ‘Top International Film Schools’ in the world, and it is the only School in Europe to have consistently appeared in this list for more than a decade.
2. Create award-winning work
Students at the NFTS produce work that is at the forefront of creative film, television and games production and is regularly recognised with key awards. The NFTS is one of only a handful of schools globally to have had students nominated for Academy Awards for the films they have made as part of their studies.
3. Gain access to state-of-the-art facilities
The School’s unparalleled facilities and equipment enable its students to leave with up-to-date skills and training at the highest level in the industry. Students have full access to the largest production facilities you’ll find at a film school in the UK.
4. Join exclusive Masterclasses
The School benefits from some of the most high-profile and significant names in the industry, teaching at, and delivering guest sessions, including Denis Villeneuve (Dune), Charlotte Moore (BBC), Louis Theroux (Forbidden America), Asif Kapadia (Amy) and Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Mitchells vs The Machines).
5. High graduate employment rate
NFTS graduates go on to become key creative leaders for much of the UK’s largest and most high-profile film and television content, working in key roles on 97% of the biggest budget inward investment films. 85% of UK broadcaster spend on high end television and two thirds of all Netflix productions have at least one NFTS graduate in a key role. Consistently over 90% of students secure a job in the area they studied within six months of graduating from the NFTS.
6. The NFTS offers over £900,000 worth of scholarships
The School works hard to source funding, working with key industry partners and donors, and now offer over £900,000 worth of scholarships and bursary funding for UK students on full-time courses each year.
