The Net Zero Building Services Engineering MSc provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles and applications of low energy building, digital twins, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and building services design. This enables graduates to contribute to the future of low energy solutions and artificial intelligence in the built environment.

The School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering has an international reputation, close links with industry and UK professional organisations, and has delivered programmes in building services engineering for over 40 years. The School's close links with industry worldwide allow us to help you secure a placement that suits your needs and career prospects. Several graduates from this programme have been fully sponsored to carry out PhD research placements by our industry partners such as Tata Steel, Vexo International, Cundall and Mitsubishi Electric.

The coursework on two modules of this programme is based on the ASHRAE Integrated Sustainable Building Design (ISBD) brief, allowing our students to be entered in the competition. We won the ASHRAE ISBD competition in 2019, 2020 and our graduates have also won the CIBSE ASHRAE Graduate of the Year in 2014 and 2017.

This degree counts as part of a CEng qualification as a fast-track approach to becoming a Chartered Engineer.
