Summary
This programme covers the whole breadth of public health, encompassing low-, middle- and high-income countries. It reflects local, national and international public health agendas, and provides the opportunity to explore public health issues in depth with academics, researchers and practitioners. After a series of compulsory core modules, you will be able to focus on a specialised stream of study, including the option to follow a general public health programme.
This stream provides a sound understanding of the theoretical and empirical basis of health promotion, equipping you with the conceptual and practical skills to design and evaluate health promotion interventions and programmes. Graduates work in practice, management, research and teaching in health promotion, public health, health policy and related fields at all levels.

Entry requirements | A 2nd class honours degree of a UK university, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard, in a subject appropriate to that of the course of study to be followed; a registrable qualification appropriate to the course of study to be followed, in medicine, dentistry or veterinary studies. Applications with an appropriate technical qualification, or equivalent qualification and experience from overseas, are also welcomed. An additional requirement is some evidence of ability in mathematics, post-16 year education. Preference will also be given to applicants with relevant work experience. Any student who does not meet the minimum entry requirement above but who has relevant professional experience may still be eligible for admission. |
