This unique programme provides state-of-the-art training in global population health, from a substantive, technical and policy perspective. It combines
developments in disease epidemiology, health policy
and health financing and economics to illuminate
pertinent issues in population health.
Students analyse policy and research addressing a variety of issues, including: population health needs (current and future); determinants of population health; global health policy debates; research skills for analysing and planning for population and health. At the end of this degree students are able to critically
understand issues that global populations face, such as
ageing and its health consequences, the double burden of
disease and malnutrition and the future health expenditure;
the effect of environment to health; and the relationship of
international migration and health. Potential employers are
national and international organisations in public, private
and non-profit sectors.
