This master’s-level course will prepare you for working as a performance analyst.
As part of this course, you’ll:
• Understand and critically evaluate the insights and limitations of using analysis of sport performance in a range of contexts
• Use your expertise to inform short, medium, and long-term optimisation strategies
• Practise using specialist equipment and technology, including digital applications
• Learn how to assess the needs and requirements of stakeholders and understand how to personalise your practice to meet their needs
• Adopt a scientific, evidence-informed approach to solving performance analysis issues as you reflect on both traditional and contemporary approaches to research, theory, and practice
• Collect, analyse, and evaluate empirical data to produce verifiable conclusions and make practical recommendations
• Understand how research paradigms, methodologies, and techniques generate different kinds of knowledge, and be able to apply your research skills in the study of performance analysis
• Deal with complex professional practice issues to make sound judgments in the communication of conclusions and/or recommendations to specialist and non-specialist audiences

You’ll study in our new £45m Carnegie School of Sport building where you’ll access state-of-the-art spaces, including a Performance Analysis laboratory in partnership with Catapult.
The laboratory has been purposefully built to match the real-world setting of a performance analyst. You’ll have access to a range of cutting-edge software and hardware that will allow you to develop the applied skills to thrive in the workplace.
