Accredited, Applied and Professional
You’ll learn from industry leaders who apply a professional context to their teaching and make sure you gain the practical experience you need to appeal to employers. Courses accredited or designed with employers mean you’ll be up to date with industry needs and boost your prospects even further. Search courses.
Many employers, including top Fortune 500 companies, send their people to study with LSBU, so postgraduate students have the opportunity to build strong professional networks. Many courses include work placements and Course Directors also regularly invite outside.
LSBU is a forward-thinking university with strength in developing students’ enterprising mind-set. After all, enterprise is about more than just entrepreneurship and start-ups: it’s a way of being and a way of doing.
LSBU alumni exemplify this attitude every day; striving, achieving and improving the opportunities that are open to others.
“From living in a hostel to carrying the Olympic torch, alumnus Tunji Akintokun’s story is one of overcoming adversity. Now he’s focusing on helping young people to do the same.”
“Tech evangelist, social entrepreneur, thought leader, writer, speaker and mum – alumna Dr Sue Black has worked tirelessly to get more women coding, inspired by her own life-changing experiences.”
Impact Driven Research
As well as addressing the challenging issues faced by society today, the University’s applied research seeks to provide solutions to the business world and beyond.
London South Bank University has 14 Research Centres and 33 Research Groups, each delivering a wide range of applied research. The University’s pioneering research in foot and ankle biometrics helped develop products for global brand Fitflop, while research on cooling the London Underground has been incorporated into a £500m upgrade of the tube system.
Following the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) the University emerged as one of the top three modern universities in London after 73% of its research was given the two highest ratings (4* and 3*) for 'impact.’
LSBU gives you the support and flexibility you need to succeed. Studying has to be a part of real life – you may need to earn some extra income, or having some trouble settling into your first year.
The Student Life Centre is there to make your experience as easy as possible.
