At Wrexham Glyndwr University we believe that opportunities for higher education should be available to everyone, and we strive to provide the best possible accessibility for all students. In fact, we have been ranked number one in England and Wales for social inclusion for the fourth year running and are joint first across the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022.
Our inclusion team offers a range of services to help anyone with a disability or learning difference, from our on-site Assessment Centre to our extensive Assistive Technology Suite.
We also have a multi-award-winning Students’ Union which has a wide range of societies open to postgraduate and undergraduate students alike. Plus, we were the first university in north Wales to become Stonewall Diversity Champions.
As a university, we are open to innovation and ideas, producing ground-breaking research and working on world-leading developments. One of our most notable successes saw our team at the OpTIC Centre in St Asaph polish prototype mirrors for a £900m project on the world’s largest telescope.
Research opportunities are available across a diverse range of subjects, focusing on areas which make a difference to industry and communities, as well as having an impact on economic, social and cultural issues.
The university is also a signatory of the Concordat to Support Research Integrity, and we’re proud to have retained the HR Excellence in Research Award, demonstrating our long-term commitment to the career development of our researchers.
We offer a comprehensive and diverse range of support services at Wrexham Glyndwr, from our award-winning careers team to our specialist one-to-one study skills support. In 2019 we were commended for our personalised student support by QAA, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education .
You will be well-represented by Wrexham Glyndŵr University’s Students’ Union, which was crowned Students’ Union of the Year in the National Union of Students Wales awards 2018, as well as winning the NUS Participation Award for its period poverty campaign.
