Anglo-American University

Anglo-American University

Anglo-American University is the oldest private university in the Czech Republic located in the historical center of Prague. AAU offers 17 undergraduate and graduate programs in English to students from over 70 countries across the world.  AAU has both Czech and American accreditation. With an average of just 15 students per class, AAU places an emphasis on small, interactive classes with a focus on critical and creative thinking, effective communication, and flexibility. As a not-for-profit university, AAU continually invests in developing the potential of our community and improving our educational models.

Globally Accredited
AAU has an American and European accreditation, which ensures that a degree from AAU is recognized around the world. AAU is one of few universities globally to have received accreditation from the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), an American accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This means AAU graduates receive a university degree that is recognized worldwide as meeting the same rigorous academic standards that leading universities in the United States are subject to.

International Exchange
The EU’s Erasmus program has been an important part of AAU’s push toward internationalization. AAU currently has 26 established Erasmus agreements with European universities. The partnerships allow students and staff to travel abroad for a semester and experience the varying education systems and styles across the EU. Outside the EU, AAU’s efforts have historically focused on the USA and other English-speaking countries; but there has been a recent development to include exchange partnerships in Asia.
