Summary
Develop a mastery of critical approaches to culture and creativity, allied with an international perspective. You’ll explore theatre, film and TV, museums, galleries, publishing, and the music industry, combining critical study with practical experience.
Would you like to work in the creative economy of a major European city? This course gives you the chance to do just that, and get lots more hands-on experience too. You’ll also get the opportunity to go on an international field trip.
Your tutors are experts in the cultural and creative industries. They’ll help you to shape your study around your own areas of interest. Your work experience, cultural criticism, creative fieldwork and production can all be tailored to your path of study.
What you'll study
The compulsory modules explore critical approaches to culture, and provide practical knowledge of the creative industries, while you’ll get further insight with a 20-day placement in a partner cultural organisation in the North West.
Optional modules allow you to tailor the programme to your own interests, and you’ll gain expertise in areas including marketing, entrepreneurship, publishing and media.
You might choose to look at cultural representations of Liverpool in popular culture, from film, TV and music to novels and art. Or maybe you’d like to gain advanced skills in immersive, online filmmaking using the Screenlife technology and principles.
During our MA International Creative Enterprise, you’ll also have the chance to participate in an international field trip, learn a modern language and produce an extended piece of individual research.
