We offer a range of Postgraduate courses from The Sheffield LLM, with its three optional specialist pathways - LLM Corporate and Commercial Law, LLM European Law and LLM International Law and Global Justice - to MA International Criminology and Postgraduate Certificate in International Criminology.
Our range of professional courses include the conversion courses, the MA Law over two years and the Graduate Diploma in Law over one, and our MA in Legal Practice (Legal Practice Course), for those who wish to go on to qualify as solicitors. The MA Law and MA in Legal Practice can be studied part-time so that you can complete your degree around your other commitments.
Our programmes balance academic with applied content, preparing you in theory and practice for employment or PhD study. The School of Law at the University of Sheffield is committed to delivering both inspirational teaching and leading edge research and you’ll be taught by academics at the forefront of their field, ensuring you benefit from the latest thinking and ideas. A large proportion of our teaching staff have also practised law in a range of jurisdictions worldwide, giving you a unique insight into their direct experience.
Postgraduate research provides you with the opportunity to explore your own ideas and develop a range of skills critical to your future. Students can undertake a research degree in a range of subject areas, subject to availability of supervisors. As part of our active research community you will receive outstanding supervision from talented academics producing intellectually rigorous and leading research in their respective areas.
As part of your research degree you will take part in Sheffield’s Doctoral Development Programme (DDP), a flexible, ongoing training plan that strives to create successful researchers with a range of transferable skills and key competencies orientated towards future employment.
