From healthcare and security to accessibility and climate change, in Cardiff we are driven by a shared dedication to embrace creativity and explore solutions to some of the biggest challenges we face in the 21st century and beyond.
We have trained computer scientists for more than half a century, since our school was established in 1971. Our first Head of School, Professor Bob Churchouse, was taught by Alan Turing while studying his undergraduate degree at Victoria University, Manchester.
We regularly review and update our degrees to ensure the content is both contemporary and relevant. We place a strong emphasis on employability and industry experience, and have established an External Advisory Board made up of successful figures from industry and academia who provide guidance, insight and feedback on our learning and teaching.
We attract postgraduate students from across the world, who benefit from the unique experience of studying and living in Wales’s friendly and welcoming capital city.
The Research Excellence Framework has also confirmed that 90% of research at Cardiff University is world-leading or internationally excellent. This means it’s making a real difference in the world.
