The Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences, based at our City Centre Campus, has approximately 6,500 students and offers an innovative learning environment, as well as outstanding facilities and resources. The Faculty is split up into three schools: Birmingham City Business School, School of Law, and School of Social Sciences.
We offer a wide variety of academically rigorous, professionally oriented postgraduate degree courses. We currently have postgraduates degrees in the following areas: Accounting and Finance, Management, MBA, Law, Criminology and Psychology. Most of our courses offer different study options, including part time, blended, and online-only routes to suite your needs.
Career boosting skills, enterprise and practice-based projects are built into our curriculum, giving you experience of the careers you may wish to pursue. You’ll have the chance to study a range of optional modules, so you can tailor your study to your own interests.
Our courses have globally recognised accreditations from professional bodies, giving our students an advantage when seeking employment opportunities. These include the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the British Psychological Society (BPS), demonstrating our commitment to the highest professional standards as well as making sure our courses are relevant in an ever-changing world.
Many of our courses offer you a professional placement route which gives you the opportunity to undertake a six month placement in industry, meaning you qualify with valuable experience.
We remain at the cutting-edge of new ideas by challenging both staff and students to excel in research and studies. Our academic staff have a strong record of making an impact with their research, with staff supporting national and international media with their coverage of important contemporary issues, as well as advising prestigious organisations, ranging from the UK Government to the United Nations.
