In all our teaching, on whatever the course you are on, we link theory to practice applied in the real world giving you the skills you need to thrive when you graduate.
The department has a friendly atmosphere and students from all regions and diverse backgrounds quickly settle in. We offer a lively and enriching working and social environment with unrivalled resources for your courses.
Expand your knowledge with postgraduate study
Whilst many students choose to study a PGCE and become teachers, a master's degree in a subject related to education is also relevant and useful to those working outside education. It is often of interest to those in, or interested in, other professions such as policing, healthcare, or social work. For those wanting to work in education environments, many positions in the sector now require at least a master’s degree in the field of education meaning a postgraduate degree can be key to career progression.
Our Masters courses are highly contemporary in both theory and practice, they can provide a career boost in a variety of professions. In all our courses we link theory to practice applied in the real world giving you the skills you need to thrive in your chosen profession.
World-leading Research
You will be taught by people who have become scholars in their area so they can help you develop the expertise to change lives. In the School of Educational Sciences, you will learn about the most current research findings in your field. You will also get to work alongside internationally renowned research experts in designing and implementing your own research.
We are immensely proud to have founded the CIEREI Education and Childhood Research Institute in our school, the first of its kind in Wales. The Institute undertakes world-leading research across many areas crucial to schools, education, parents, and wellbeing.
