Summary
The LLM in Media and Entertainment Law by distance-learning provides an interesting and eclectic mix of creative practice, research and analytical skills. Students will acquire a comprehensive understanding and in-depth knowledge surrounding the leading issues to govern the media and entertainment industry. It will investigate to what effect these industries try to coexist with one another and work within the legal framework.
This course will enable students to build on their existing stock of knowledge regarding the legal position and regulations governing the media and entertainment industry. This course is going to illustrate domestic, European and international laws in place to try and provide protection for all parties involved. Due to the delivery nature for this course, it provides students with the flexibility to study at a time convenient for them. Therefore, this is ideal for anyone already working within the industry that needs to expand their knowledge in a particular area/field.
This course will provide students with all the equipment they need to succeed to gain a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or a Masters in Law.
The media and entertainment industry provides an interesting picture when it’s combined with the law. Due to current issues surfacing round ‘the way print media is regulated, to the ever-increasing problems now facing companies over the misuse of social media, this course aims to bring a structure to the way the media and entertainment world is constantly trying to coexist with the law. The law can be deemed to play catch up with society, one reason for this is due to the ever expansion of technological developments within the industry, an example could be seen with issues such as cybercrime and WikiLeaks all of which this course will be investigating. This course is designed to merge commercial practical components and the theoretical understanding of the way these two industries work.
