Summary
Learn how to engage and analyse the dynamic and changing industry of media and communications in professional way. Our University is proud to be ranked first in the UK for Communication and Media Studies (Complete University Guide 2023). This innovative course effectively blends theory with practical application, staying current with the latest industry trends. It is well suited to individuals who wish to extend, deepen, and sharpen their understanding of current developments in the media and communication industries.
Our refreshed curriculum covers four key areas: -Media and (Social) Justice, encompassing media representation, ethics and regulation; -Media Management and Marketing focusing on reaching audiences with digital and social media marketing as well as leadership in media organisations; -Audiovisual Communication and Production, delving into effective utilisation of audiovisual communication and confident execution and commissioning of media production; -Professional Communication, covering specialist sectors such as fashion communication, health communication or political communication.
Throughout the course, you will develop career skills through module content and the completion of authentic or practical assessment. You can also gain work experience with a Professional Placement.
We have designed this programme for savvy communicators and keen media users who wish to get a leg up in the industry. We train you to be a well-rounded media and communication professional who is conversant in the global media industries, sensitive to ethical issues of media diversity and in possession of the knowledge and skills to reach audiences, lead employees and commission media production.

However, applications are also welcome from those with experience in the media, information or communication sectors. An equivalent qualification from an overseas university will be considered. This course requires the equivalent of an IELTS academic test with an overall score of 7.0 and a minimum of 6.5 in each subtest. |
