Summary
Primary care is central to the health and well-being of individuals and communities, providing the majority of preventive, treatment and rehabilitation services. You will learn about the latest theory and practice influencing primary care provision and critically evaluate approaches to developing and delivering effective services to enhance your role as a general practice nurse (GPN).
The course is for registered nurses working in general practice and can be undertaken as soon as you receive your PIN on the Nursing and Midwifery Council register.
A mix of core and elective modules will allow you to build essential professional knowledge, underpinned by a robust evidence baser to support your developing role as a general GPN.
The programme is focused on clinical practice, with a strong emphasis on analysing and interpreting theory and research and applying evidence to the general practice setting.
The flexible modular structure means that you can study to undergraduate, postgraduate diploma or master’s level.
