Elite Business Schools Offering 'Mega Qualification'

With an increasing number of graduates and postgraduates leaving university and fighting it out for a limited amount of jobs, top students are looking for something a little extra to add onto their CV, and the Global Alliance in Management Education from the Community of European Management Schools is just that. This is a prestigious qualification which has essentially been created to allow the top students to prove their educational prowess is now thought to be the most exclusive business master’s program anywhere in the world, and it is designed to demonstrate high standards, global citizenship and commitment to ethics.

Applicants

In order to apply to be part of the CEMS course, students must already be enrolled in a recognized business degree , and be willing to take on the additional responsibility of this extra course. The qualification title which is gained at graduation is a master’s in International Management, and it is effectively an add-on to their original business degree, given graduates of this qualification a big boost on their CV.

Multicultural Emphasis

The course is now gaining recognition the world over, and is truly a multinational venture, spanning 80 multinational companies, and 28 top business schools. Each country is only allowed to be represented by one business school, the honour of which goes to the London School of Economics in the UK. The CEMS network now spans across Europe, Asia, Australasia, North, and South America. Part of the course is dealing with the multinational nature of big business in the modern world, and to encourage cultural learning, the first term of the second year is spent on a foreign exchange between business schools. It works on a reciprocating basis whereby if two students from the LSE travel to the Hong Kong University of Science, two students from Hong Kong would travel to London. This not only allows the students to immerse themselves into a different culture and learning environment, but also strengthens ties between universities around the world.

Attraction for Universities

Not only is this a superb course for students to get accepted onto, it is also an honour for the universities to be named as the country’s representative establishment. The London School of Economics said that they are seeing an extremely high calibre of CEMS applicants to their courses, with one of the requirements being for students to be trilingual. These students are extremely employable and are seen as a credit to the university.
