In the UK some dental schools will consider an excellent result in a first degree, especially if you apply during your final year, but if it is not in a science-based subject you will need to either have A-Levels (or equivalent) in science subjects or complete a one-year preparatory course.

I’m looking to apply as a grad student from a Canadian university. I am interested in applying to the 4 year degree programs in dentistry. I’ve written the Canadian DAT and I’m writing the American DAT in November. Want to know if these exams are acceptable? My current GPA is 3.5. I’m looking to increase if you 3.75 - 3.8

Charlotte King Sept. 26, 2021, 7:16 p.m.

Hi Zachary – if you can improve your GPA to around 3.7 this equates to a British 2.1 which is the usual grade for a postgraduate entry. However lower grades can be considered by some institutions so it is worth checking with the admissions department of the university that you're interested in. Good luck with your studies.
