PG Courses in English

There are a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses taught in English at German universities. Although it tends to be an option more frequently offered at private universities in Germany, many public institutions also offer courses in English. Most courses taught in English have an international or British or American emphasis to them. Examples include the MSc of Finance course at the private Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, which is offered in English as, is the MSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the public Hamburg University. Of course, learning to speak German will make your time in Germany much more enjoyable as you will be able to fully submerge yourself into German life.  It will also further enhance your CV at the end of your studies.

Low Tuition Fees

In Germany, there are public and private universities and the significant difference between the two is that public universities tend not to charge tuition fees and private universities do. Private universities in Germany may offer a larger range of subjects, especially courses in English, than a public university. For example, tuition fees for the MSc in Finance at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management are €36,500 and there are no tuition fees charged for the MSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at Hamburg University, which is a public university. However, tuition fees at private universities are still lower than those charged at other institutions for similar courses in other countries in Europe

Excellent Travel Links

Germany is a well-connected country and travelling home is never going to be difficult. The three largest international airports, Dusseldorf, Munich and Frankfurt, are well placed to service large parts of the country and you can fly directly to most countries around the world from these airports. There is also an excellent road network and travelling by train around Germany is straightforward.

Affordable Living Costs

The cost of living in Germany tends to remain in line with European averages and in the larger cities they are lower than other European cities of a similar size. Depending on your lifestyle and where you live most universities advise that students will need around €850 per month to live on. Students will need to pay for accommodation, health insurance, a semester contribution, which is payable each semester and varies between €50 to €250, and tuition fees if necessary.
