The MA Acting programme at ArtsEd is a rigorous, intensive training designed to prepare graduates for careers as professional actors. Under the mentorship of experienced practitioners currently working in the profession, students on the MA acting learn to discover and embrace their own unique and distinctive voices as artists with the aim of building successful careers across the entertainment and performing arts industries. Utilising an interdisciplinary approach to the craft of acting to develop the actor’s practical toolkit, the programme seeks to develop creative, confident and bold actors who can take their place as relevant and adaptable artists within the ever-changing landscape of performance.

Students undertake studio and rehearsal-based training in professional working conditions for three intensive terms. Practical projects focus on the skills required to perform contemporary texts, Shakespeare, as well as creating your own work. ArtsEd also offers a significant amount of time dedicated to Film and TV acting. Students are encouraged to develop their own reflective practice and to critically engage with acting process, contextualising their personal development in relation to the wider field of professional practice. Graduates of the MA acting programme are well-positioned to compete for jobs within professional theatre, film and television as well as having a strong foundation to create and produce original work.
