The MSc Civil Engineering Management course is designed to meet the professional body requirements and is delivered by professionals with extensive research and industrial experience in sustainable construction materials, sustainable transport, integrated transport systems, environmental management, structural performance and urban pollution. This course aims to broaden the knowledge and understanding of a range of aspects of civil engineering management practice and their limitations such as risk analysis. In addition, the management skills related to working within the construction profession in particular critically analysing management and business practices applied to the field of civil engineering are developed.
The modules provide opportunities for individual research as well as group-based activities, where students will tackle industrially relevant challenges, requiring innovative and creative solutions which recognise the wider implications of engineering activities.
The course provides further education to the graduates who are already in possession of a partial-CEng (Chartered Engineer) accredited undergraduate degree to meet the (Chartered Engineer) CEng standards. The course is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) which comprises ICE, IStructE, IHE, CIHT and PWI.
