Engineering Business Management MSc, taught in the interdisciplinary department of WMG, is designed for graduates who want to become managers or leaders of technology-based organisations.
Course Overview This course is designed for graduates who want to become managers or leaders of technology-based organisations. It is particularly suited to students with a technical background, who are looking to understand and develop management expertise. The course delivers a broad education in management and business, and will equip you with the analytical tools and techniques to improve internal and external operations, as well as an understanding of the processes and technologies used by engineering businesses. During the course, you’ll develop skills in the research, analysis and evaluation of complex business problems, and gain a methodical understanding of the functional relations between business divisions that can optimise efficiency and competitiveness.
Engineering Management focuses on the key value adding activities of: market, product and process development; operations, logistics and supply chain management; and core and emerging technology as well as investigating how to achieve sustainability throughout the product life cycle.
This course has been designed to be accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Candidates must hold a CEng accredited BEng/BSc (Hons) undergraduate first degree to comply with full CEng registration requirements.
