Summary
The MA Fine Art: Sculpture at Camberwell College of Arts explores material and immaterial practice in the widest sense. You’ll experiment with a range of work including object making, performance, site-based practice and film.
Sculptural processes, whether they be traditional or non-traditional, lie at the heart of the course. From bronze work to 3D printing and virtual reality (VR), making is facilitated in well-equipped workshops run by highly experienced technicians. Your experimentation and research within your sculptural practice is supported by subject-specific seminars and lectures. You’ll consider your making in relation to theoretical and philosophical frameworks. The course creates a critically reflective and diverse learning environment for you to develop your art practice.
What to expect * Workshops: Practical workshops with technicians and visiting artists focus on a range of sculpture processes and materials. You can also access other College resources such as printmaking, photography, digital, wood, ceramics and metal workshops.

-
Collaboration: The course nurtures collaborations within the Camberwell fine art programme and encourages you to connect with local, national and international networks.
-
Showing your work: You’ll regularly be able to show and discuss your work and research through exhibitions and other public-facing events.
-
Social, cultural and ethical contexts: You’ll explore diverse debates surrounding sculpture, the arts and culture including narratives of inclusion and social justice.
Industry experience and opportunities The course will develop your skills in creative leadership, problem-solving, collaboration, resourcefulness and communication. You’ll also learn how to sustain open-ended lines of enquiry, an essential skill in any professional setting. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to showcase your practice including organising and participating in public events and exhibitions. A programme of talks and workshops will help you identify which part of the art world you would like to contribute to after graduation.
