Summary

This four-year iPhD is designed to develop and nurture the next generation of technology pioneers who will have the skills, assets and network to innovate at the artificial intelligence and electronics interface, enabling systems with beneficial human impact.

On this programme you'll begin with a nine month individually tailored programme of technical and interdisciplinary research training, and a process of shaping your research focus.

The remainder of the programme includes strong engagement from industry and government partners, international collaboration, and continued development of outreach and entrepreneurship.

PhD with Integrated Study

The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton includes Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science, Physics and Astronomy, and the Zepler Institute for Photonics and Nanoelectronics, incorporating the Optoelectronics Research Centre.
