Our MSc in Sustainable Energy Technologies provides an academically challenging and industry-relevant education in advanced renewable and low-carbon technologies for sustainable power generation and energy storage.
You’ll gain both theoretical insight and practical experience across key areas of energy research, including photovoltaics, fuel cells, energy storage and batteries, combustion, electrical power systems, and wind, wave and tidal energy.
Through hands-on laboratory and project work, you’ll learn to design, model and evaluate energy systems such as fuel cells, solar panels, wind turbines and hybrid propulsion technologies. You’ll also explore how thermo-fluid engineering principles can be applied to improve the efficiency and sustainability of energy conversion processes.
This programme is ideal for graduates in engineering, science or mathematics who are passionate about driving the transition to sustainable energy and pursuing careers in renewable energy research, technology development, or the global energy sector.

You’ll gain expertise and practical skills in areas of energy research including photovoltaics, fuel cells, energy storage and batteries, combustion, electrical power systems, and wind, wave and tidal energy. You’ll learn to design and assess the performance of fuel cells and photovoltaic systems, wind power and hybrid propulsion systems. As well as how thermo-fluid engineering processes can be used for the production of low-carbon energy. This course will particularly suit you if you have previously studied engineering, science or mathematics.
