Take the next step in your career applying psychology to the world of work and business. Join our British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited MSc course which gives you the Stage 1 qualification in Occupational Psychology. Due to the professional accredited training route which this course is part of, you must have a BPS-accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology or Graduate Membership of the BPS.
Our Occupational Psychology MSc provides students with a grounding in the key theoretical models, evidence-based practices, and research and evaluation methods used within the field of work psychology. They will learn how to motivate employees, assess their abilities, personality and performance, train them in new skills and competencies. At a more strategic level, students will learn about leadership development, job design and managing organisational change, diversity and well-being at work.. All of which are particularly valuable to future employers, including: Occupational Psychology consultancies, business and management consultancies and other large organisations who employ psychology specialists within their corporate teams.
We're committed to developing practical skills and enabling students to advance as a practitioner in this field. That's why they will learn consultancy skills and how to use evidence-practice to solve work-based problems. Students also benefit from being taught by research-active experts in the field.
An advanced degree from Nottingham will see students graduate with the knowledge and skills needed to apply what they've learned to the real world of work and prepare them for future roles in the corporate sector, the public sector, or consultancy firms. Having completed a Stage 1 accredited MSc, students will be eligible to commence the Stage 2 Qualification in Occupational Psychology at the appropriate time., which is the next stage to becoming a BPS Chartered Psychologist and HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist.
