Summary
Our Statistics MSc provides a broad and deep understanding of statistics. The 12 month full-time programme provides advanced knowledge and training to become a professional statistician or researcher. Statisticians are widely in demand in sectors including finance, business analytics, healthcare and technology.
Throughout the year, you will study the fundamentals of statistics. The course explores the principles and techniques required for modern-day statistical modelling and data analysis. By combining core and optional modules you can tailor the masters to your interests.
During the summer you will apply the theory and techniques you have learnt by working on a substantial self-directed dissertation. You'll benefit from supervision from experts within the School of Mathematical Sciences.
On graduation, you will be equipped with valuable statistical skills to enable you to:
- test theories
- interpret large and complex data
- extract relevant insights
Our graduates take up roles as data analysts, risk analysts and advisors across banking, finance, education and healthcare.
