Our MPA develops knowledge and skills for managers facing complex problems in the public sector and beyond, equipping students with advanced analytical and decision-making skills.

We offer a range of tailored modules, with practical, problem-centred teaching informed by world-leading research. The MPA prepares students for a career in public management but also provides knowledge which will be useful beyond the public sector.

Our department is an international community, with recent students from the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the USA and Turkey, as well as the UK.

E integrate academic skill development into the core MPA modules to support international students who can also improve their English Language through our on-campus partners at the International Study Centre.

If you are currently in a government role with a training sabbatical, we also offer a special (full-time) MPA with Applied Study (21 months) which involves a further in-depth policy project and additional training and learning.
