Summary

Our MA International Journalism programme offers a dynamic mix of advanced critical theory and practical experience, giving you the tools to analyse, create, and innovate across a variety of aspects of international journalism.

As journalism evolves, traditional print and broadcast journalism are no longer the sole focus of modern media. This programme prepares you to thrive in a fast-paced environment, equipping you with the advanced skills needed in digital content creation, video production, and interactive storytelling.

You will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software and technologies, learning how to craft compelling narratives across multiple platforms and connect with diverse audiences. Our cross-disciplinary approach ensures you develop the collaborative skills needed to excel in modern media teams, where journalistic integrity and creative innovation go hand in hand.

By fostering a global outlook in both theory and practice, this course will prepare you for success in the interconnected world of international reporting.

When you study for the MA, you will benefit from our strong industry links and close connections with leading media and communication organisations. These relationships give you access to a wide range of work experience opportunities and internships throughout your studies, helping you gain real-world experience and build valuable professional networks.

You will study on our stunning Singleton Park Campus, overlooking Swansea Bay on the edge of the Gower Peninsula.

As a postgraduate student, you will have access to the Graduate Centre, a dedicated space designed to support individual and collaborative research activity of international standard. Here, you will find a vibrant academic community and resources to help you succeed.

We also offer postgraduate training to enhance your academic and professional development, alongside seminar programmes, workshops, and international conferences that connect you with experts and peers across the globe.
