This MSc is designed for graduates of science disciplines who wish to pursue a career in bioengineering. Learn to use methods and techniques developed in traditional engineering fields, and adapt them to address challenges in healthcare diagnosis and treatment. Our comprehensive programme covers the fundamentals of biomedical engineering, before allowing you to specialise in key areas.

What you'll study: This programme aims to provide you with the skills necessary for a career in biomedical engineering. You’ll take a compulsory module on biomedical engineering in urology, covering surgical instrumentation, imaging and diagnostics, tissue engineering, catheters, pads and implantable devices and materials. This will be followed by a compulsory module on ethics and regulatory affairs.

The rest of your programme is determined by the specialism you choose. You'll have the option to choose modules in areas such as electronics, medical robotics, nanotechnology and nanomedicine, sensors and clinical measurements and more.

Your research project forms a major part of your degree. It provides you with an excellent opportunity to take part in internationally-leading research within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, using our excellent facilities.
