Summary

This course covers the scientific theory and practice relating to the assessment of animal well-being and how human actions impact upon it.

Animal health and welfare is a growing field with an increased global awareness. The course explores animal production, utilisation of animals for educational and therapeutic purposes, conservation efforts, and the role / value of animals in society more generally. You'll also investigate ethical frameworks, helping us to understand our obligations to animals. Combining advanced research and academic skills with applied science skills, you'll work with academic staff to push the boundaries of animal welfare.
