Discover Durham PG bursaries – support for low- and middle-income UK students
Durham University has announced bursaries of £2,000 and £3,000 for postgraduate study starting in autumn 2026. These were previously known as the Postgraduate Student Support Scholarships.
The bursaries are available to low- or middle-income students in the UK who have accepted an offer to join an eligible full- or part-time taught or research master’s degree at Durham University.
Check if you’re eligible for a Durham Master’s Bursary
Bursaries are available on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants, and applications will close once all bursaries are allocated.
Additionally, having a bachelor's degree or higher from Durham University will automatically qualify you for Durham’s alumni discount, known as the Alumni Fee Scholarship.
Apply for a Durham Master’s Bursary
The following programmes are not eligible:
- Postgraduate diplomas
- Postgraduate certificates
- PGCE programmes
- Integrated master’s programmes
- Integrated PhD programmes
