University of Birmingham campus is one of the UK’s best green spaces
The Green Flag Award Scheme has recognised the Edgbaston Campus at the University of Birmingham as one of the best green spaces in the UK.
University of Birmingham Head of Grounds and Gardens, David O’Driscoll, comments, “We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award for second year. We know how much quality green spaces matter to students, staff and visitors, and this award celebrates the dedication that goes into maintaining our Edgbaston Campus to such a high standard. I’d like to dedicate this award to the fantastic team that works tirelessly throughout the year to take care of campus.”
A Green Flag Award is the mark of a quality park or green space – and the Edgbaston Campus is among 1,883 UK parks and green spaces that have recently received this prestigious award – a record-breaking number!
These international awards are now into their third decade, and indicate that the space has the highest possible environmental standards, is excellently maintained and has fantastic visitor facilities.
