Swansea University Medical School launches new MSc in Diabetes Practice
A new MSc in Diabetes Practice has been developed at Swansea University to address the shortage of Diabetes Specialist Nurses in the NHS.
With three and a half million people in the UK currently living with the condition, and this number set to increase, more Diabetes Specialist Nurses (DSNs) are required to provide expert care.
The MSc course has been specifically designed for healthcare professionals – particularly current or future DSNs – wanting to specialise in the field of diabetes. The course is delivered via modular distance learning, and includes specialised training, diagnostic and assessment-based knowledge, personal and professional development, reflective practice and problem-based learning.
