New laboratory set to open at Swansea University

Swansea and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) have signed an agreement to open a new laboratory on the Swansea University campus. The new facilities will provide more opportunities for research collaboration across disciplines.

The new laboratory for scientific analysis will be based at Swansea University’s Singleton Park campus, and will open in March 2017. Staff working at NRW’s existing laboratory will relocate to the new NRW Analytical Services from its opening date.

Staff at the new laboratory will continue to carry out essential environmental analysis work for NRW, such as testing the quality of the water from Welsh beaches to ensure it is safe to swim in. The laboratory also offers greater opportunities for Swansea staff and students to undertake research in close collaboration with NRW.
