Ellie Goulding to receive an honorary degree from the University of Kent
Ellie Goulding has been selected to receive an honorary degree from the University of Kent in July this year.
The singer and songwriter is an alumnus of Kent – having studied Drama & Theatre Studies – and she will receive her honorary Doctor of Arts degree at a ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral on 18th July.
Ellie is among 13 people due to receive honorary degrees from the University of Kent in ceremonies that will be held in Canterbury and Rochester cathedrals during July 2019. The other recipients include poet and performer Patience Agbabi, conservation biologist Professor Carl Jones, UK space expert Libby Jackson and economics journalist Stephanie Flanders. Mavis and Ray Nye – campaigners who use social media and advocacy to promote awareness of the asbestos-related cancer Mesothelioma – will also both be honoured, making them the first married couple to receive honorary degrees together from the University of Kent.
