Edinburgh Business School launches MBA scholarship with the 30% Club GCC
Edinburgh Business School – the Graduate School of Business of Heriot-Watt University – has launched a new scholarship specifically for women in partnership with the 30% Club GCC.
The winner of this new scholarship will enrol on the Edinburgh & Dubai MBA program, which is available from September 2018 and focuses on entrepreneurship. The aim of this scholarship is to increase gender equality in business, as the 30% Club, which works to raise the representation of women at senior levels.
Professor Heather McGregor, the Executive Dean of Edinburgh Business School, explains, “Across the world women are underrepresented in decision-making positions, particularly in politics and business, and this is why we want to encourage females to apply and study with Edinburgh Business School. Our MBA program can help businessmen and women to realise their ambitions. We know that companies with a strong track record of gender diversity are more likely to have higher earnings than their peers – business equality makes business sense. The scholarship is designed to enhance the role of women in business leadership and we are delighted to partner with the 30% Club GCC, which I was a co-founder of.”
Shirin Jarrar, MBA Program Director in Dubai, says, “Edinburgh Business School in Dubai has been offering its flagship MBA program on full-time and part-time basis since 2006 and we have welcomed hundreds of professionals as students over the years. Our successful MBA program will now offer more benefits. Students will be given the opportunity to engage more actively with industries, participate in professional skills workshops and full-time students will also have the option to spend the last term in Edinburgh, Scotland, where they will be encouraged to work on real life business plans.”
To apply to study the Edinburgh Business School MBA students need to have a first or second class honours degree, a minimum of two years post-qualifying full-time professional work experience. The scholarship is open to females who meet these entry requirements.
