Aston Business School appoints a new Deputy Dean
Award-winning Professor Caroline Elliott has been appointed as the new Deputy Dean of Aston Business School. She is an industrial economics professor, and joined the prestigious business school at the beginning of March.
Professor Elliott has had a 25-year academic career during which time she has won numerous awards for teaching, including the inaugural Economics Network Teaching Award.
Speaking about her new position, Professor Caroline Elliott enthuses, “I was attracted to Aston Business School because of the longstanding commitment that it has to ensuring that its students benefit from top quality teaching and learning provision, and I have already been impressed by the commitment across the university to developing students’ employability.”
She continues, “There are always challenges to be faced in the higher education sector, particularly with the pressures of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Nevertheless, I believe Aston is well placed to rise to these challenges. These can help raise the profile of the University and the Business School even further and will be important in an increasingly competitive market to attract students.”
