PhD Nursing

Join us to benefit from our monthly doctoral support programme, where you can meet students at different points in their doctoral studies and benefit from peer support and sessions to support your learning. There are also development sessions organised by the Central Research Office for LSBU’s research students and a lively annual Summer School.

Advantages of a PhD A PhD, by definition, is an original contribution to knowledge. It is distinct from a taught Masters in that your final output will be an extended dissertation or creative project relevant to your field of interest, rather than module-based coursework and exams.

Research students are expected to self-direct their learning with support from a supervisory team.

Why Health Studies at LSBU? A member of staff, expert in your chosen field, is directly responsible for guiding and supporting your research programme. As a research student you'll become part of our thriving academic community. You'll gain support from other doctoral students at our monthly Doctoral Support Group.
