Our postgraduate research degrees
We offer a wide range of postgraduate research opportunities across the core disciplines of civil, electrical and electronic, and mechanical engineering. Within these disciplines, there are many specialist areas such as communications, energy and the environment, medical engineering, materials, nanotechnology, semiconductors, engineering AI and sensors.
These include both PhD and MPhil degrees on a full-time or part-time basis.
Our facilities
Our postgraduate students benefit from a wide range of specialist engineering laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment that support both teaching and advanced research.
We offer dynamic learning environments, from active learning workshops to cutting-edge research spaces such as the Advanced Robotics Laboratory, a dedicated additive manufacturing lab, and versatile Makers Spaces equipped with 3D printers, CAD software, and advanced manufacturing tools. Students also benefit from specialist areas focused on emerging fields like compound semiconductors and engineering AI.
