Summary
This part-time course is designed to prepare nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, podiatrists and therapeutic radiographers to practise as independent prescribers, meeting standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
The programme is a pathway through the MSc in Advanced Practice, enabling you to qualify as a non-medical prescriber alongside a programme of study that will develop your critical analysis and personal reflection skills.
You can take this courses as a stand-alone postgraduate certificate or as part of the MSc Advanced Practice Non-medical Prescribing.
Distinctive features: - This is an inter-disciplinary programme, meaning that you will learn alongside nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, podatrists and therapeutic radiographers.

Entry requirements | The course is suitable for registered nurses, midwives, pharmacists and allied health professionals who wish to be trained as independent/supplementary prescribers. Applicants should usually have a good first degree and a minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience (dependent on profession), and evidence of further study.
