Build a rewarding career that empowers people to live meaningful lives with the MSc Occupational Therapy at Canterbury Christ Church University. Designed for graduates from any discipline, this pre-registration Master’s offers an accelerated route into a dynamic and people-centred healthcare profession.

Over two years, you’ll combine academic study and hands-on practice placements to develop the knowledge, confidence, and professional skills required to become a compassionate, competent, and autonomous occupational therapist.

What you’ll learn - Gain advanced understanding of occupational theory and its application to real-world practice.

  • Apply evidence-based approaches to design, deliver, and evaluate occupation-focused interventions.

  • Develop your knowledge in research ethics, governance principles and review research findings.

  • Enhance leadership, communication, and critical reflection skills to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Challenge the traditional boundaries of occupational therapy practice and advocate for underrepresented communities.

You'll explore the importance of meaningful occupation in everyday life, focusing on how environmental, social, and personal factors can enable or limit participation. You’ll learn to apply the full occupational therapy process, from assessment and intervention to evaluation, whilst critically examining issues of occupational justice, inclusion, and advocacy.

You’ll be taught by passionate and experienced occupational therapists who bring real-world insight and research expertise into your learning. Practice placements across NHS, social care, voluntary, and private sectors will help you put theory into action, supported by expert supervision and mentorship.
