Studying an Online MBA

Studying an Online MBA

Studying an Online MBAAna Novorojdin is a FinTech and banking leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning payments, compliance and product innovation. She is now pursuing an Online MBA at Warwick Business School.

For Ana, the MBA is both a professional and personal step: a way to strengthen her leadership and global perspective while advancing her long-term vision of building fair, accessible financial systems that serve people often left out.

In this blog Ana explains her Online MBA experience so far…

My reasons to study an Online MBA

“For a long time, I wasn’t sure an MBA was right for me. I already had 20+ years of experience in banking and fintech, had launched new products, built departments, and worked with global players like Mastercard and Visa. But over time I realised that experience alone wasn’t enough. To grow further, I needed to strengthen my knowledge, challenge my own way of thinking, and connect with people who see problems from very different perspectives. That’s what pushed me to apply for the Warwick Global Online MBA.”

Why Warwick Business School

“I chose Warwick Business School because it offers both flexibility and global recognition. It is one of the few schools with triple crown accreditation (AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB) and its Global Online MBA is consistently ranked among the world’s best.

The MBA focuses on Digital Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Finance & Markets, which directly connect to my two decades in fintech. Just as important, the diverse international cohort means I will learn alongside peers with perspectives very different from my own.

For me, Warwick combines credibility, relevance and the right structure to balance study with work and family.”

What I had to consider

“The hardest part was not ‘do I want this?’ but ‘can I really manage it?’. The program requires a serious time commitment on top of work and family. I also had to think about finances, energy and support. Once I mapped it out, I knew it would be tough, but not impossible, and that the long-term benefits outweighed the short-term pressure.”

The application process

“The application essays and interviews forced me to reflect on my own path. They reminded me of the big projects I’ve led, but also of my long-term vision: building financial systems that are fairer and more inclusive. I also spoke openly about my personal mission, shaped by raising my autistic, non-verbal son, to create systems that don’t leave people out. For me, the MBA isn’t separate from this mission; it’s part of it.”

What I expect

“From the MBA, I want more than academic theory. I want to sharpen my strategic thinking, test myself in new environments, and learn from peers across industries. I expect it will give me the frameworks and confidence to scale bigger projects, lead at a higher level, and push forward ideas that matter.

In the end, choosing an MBA is choosing growth. It’s about proving to myself that I can balance all parts of life: work, family, study, while still moving forward.”
