Summary
This course covers who were, and who are, the Celts; the course focuses on literature, archaeology, religion, mythology, antiquarianism, art history and music, to explore the culture and identity of the Celtic peoples from the hill forts of prehistory to the devolved and independent parliaments of today; students are also guided as they perform their own research towards a Master's thesis on a topic of their choice; all instruction is available through English or Welsh, and comprehensive ESOL support is available where necessary.

| Entry requirements | Our MA programs requires a good first degree in a relevant subject, e.g. literature, history, folklore, mythology, comparative literature, archeology, anthropology from a university, or similar qualification from any other institution. Alternatively, you can be accepted if you have a suitable professional qualification and relevant practical experience. In general, however, applicants will be judged on their individual merits, and their age, work experience and other factors will also be taken into account. We welcome applications from good graduates in relevant disciplines and from those with work experience and an equivalent professional qualification. If you do not speak English or Welsh as a first language, you must show satisfactory evidence that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of written and spoken Welsh or English. Welsh language courses are available so that students who wish to study through the medium of Welsh can develop their skills. Contact us for details. IELTS and TOEFL web-based test scores of not less than 6.0 and 87, respectively, are generally acceptable to those who wish to study through the medium of English. Applicants who score below the required standard may have to attend an intensive English language course before registering for the academic program. |
