Cambridge English Exams: ESOL
If you want to study in the UK as an international student, your college or university will require you to prove that you have the English skills to follow a course taught in English, and they will often do this with one of several English language tests.

Cambridge English: Proficiency is the most advanced level Cambridge English exam, designed for learners who have achieved an extremely high level of skill in the English language.

Meeting the UKBA student visa requirements
If you need a visa to study in the UK, Cambridge English: Advanced and Cambridge English: Proficiency are both accepted by the UK Border Agency for Student visas. With Cambridge English: Advanced and Cambridge English: Proficiency you can apply for UK colleges and universities and for your student visa.
UCAS Tariff points
The UK’s Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) awards candidates with Grade A at Cambridge English: Advanced 32 UCAS Tariff points towards their application to universities and higher education institutions.
Candidates who achieve Grades A, B or C in Cambridge English: Proficiency are awarded up to 42 UCAS Tariff points.

Global recognition
In addition to the UK, you can also use your Cambridge English: Advanced or Cambridge English: Proficiency certificate to apply to universities and colleges in other countries including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA and many European countries.
