Summary
The PgDip / MSc Specialist Community Public Health Nursing is an academic and professional programme designed to prepare Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registered nurses and/or midwives to become Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHN).
The award has three distinct pathways that enable you to apply for registration on the SCPHN part of the NMC professional register in a specific field of SCPHN practice:
Health Visiting School Nursing Occupational Health Nursing*
*NB Occupational Health Nursing is offered part-time only and is delivery fully online.

| Entry requirements | We welcome Scottish (all fields) and UK-based students (Occupational You'll typically possess a degree or equivalent. In the absence of a degree, applicants will be considered on an individual basis and will evidence academic capability through previous achievement at Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 11 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area. |

| Entry requirements | You must be registered as a nurse or midwife on either parts 1 or 2 of the NMC professional register. You can be admitted to our course if you can evidence successful completion of your pre-registration nursing education course and if you have applied for NMC registration. You will normally be educated to degree level. Admission is permitted with relevant previous academic credit and/or prior learning. This will be in accordance with University of the West of Scotland's Regulatory Framework. Students must submit a 1000 word academic essay on ‘The Challenges for Occupational Health’ |
