Summary
94% of our research overall in Biological Sciences was assessed to be world leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021)
Most biological disciplines rely on analyses at the molecular level and the use of molecular biology to manipulate genes and proteins. Our MSc will train you to become an active and engaged researcher in this field.
You’ll spend a large part of your course researching real biological problems in a research-active laboratory. You’ll closely interact with your supervisor and become part of their research group.
Our collaborative links with the Genome Damage and Stability Centre, Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Sussex Neuroscience will give you opportunities to experience cutting-edge research projects across many areas of modern bioscience.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include the Sussex Centre for Advanced Microscopy.
We understand that deciding where and what to study is a very important decision. We’ll make all reasonable efforts to provide you with the courses, services and facilities described in this prospectus. However, if we need to make material changes, for example due to government or regulatory requirements, or unanticipated staff changes, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
