Summary
Want to learn how to address global public health challenges and improve mental health provision? This programme places a key focus on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and explores the critical role of mental health in achieving these targets.
You will investigate public health methodologies, evaluate diverse approaches, and examine the complexities of implementing psychosocial interventions in varied cultural and low-resource settings. Working in small groups, you will develop the skills to determine the most appropriate strategies from ethical, social, and economic perspectives.
Delivered through a flexible virtual learning platform, the programme allows you to study modules at your own pace. You will also join a global, multidisciplinary student community, providing the opportunity for rich cross-cultural knowledge exchange and insight into international public health practice.

| Entry requirements | All applications for the Master of Public Health (MPH) – Global Mental Health are open to UK and international professionals who wish to study online. As an applicant you should possess: We also welcome applicants without a degree, who will be considered on the basis of holding relevant work experience. In addition to the above, applicants require a GCSE Grade 4, Grade C, or GCE O Level pass in Mathematics and English, or an equivalent qualification. All applicants must provide evidence that they have an English language ability equivalent to an IELTS (academic) score of 6.5 (overall) and 7.0 (reading and writing). If you do not have an IELTS or equivalent certificate, you can take our free online English test to assess your proficiency. You do not need to prove your English ability if you are a national of, or have completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree in, any of these countries. If you do not currently meet our entry requirements, we offer a 15-credit standalone module, Practising and Promoting Public Health in a Global Context, that can provide a gateway onto the Master of Public Health (MPH) – Global Mental Health if completed successfully. |
