Our MArch Architecture course focuses on design innovation and current theories of architecture and urbanism to challenge your thinking and prepare you for practice.

| Entry requirements | Applicants will have achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (ARB / RIBA recognised Part I) or similar discipline* and may have successfully completed a period of time (typically 1 year) in architectural practice commensurate with RIBA Stage 1 Professional Experience. *Please note those students who enter the course without a recognised ARB / RIBA Part 1 qualification are required to make their own arrangements for Part 1 recognition externally. Students applying for the Masters in Architecture must have a minimum level of proficiency equal to IELTS 6.5 or equivalent in the English language. |

This MArch course provides progression for Part 1 Architecture graduates to a Part 2 course, which is a requirement for professional membership. Building on the knowledge you acquired on your undergraduate course, you’ll get to advance your design work and critical thinking skills.

The course content is informed by contemporary regional issues, specifically in areas such as urban and rural contextual issues, food production, regeneration, post-industrial landscapes, heritage protection, and sustainable urbanism. You’ll undertake a series of guided complex urban and rural design projects, exploring technological strategies and coming up with creative solutions to the challenges of sustainability in architecture and urbanism.
